DEPARTMENT OF
HISTORY
The Post Graduate Department of History, established in 1968, is one of the pioneering departments of the college, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in History. The department provides B.A. History (Core, Complementary, and Open courses) and M.A. History programmes under the Choice Based Credit and Semester System (UG) and Credit and Semester System (PG). It actively promotes interdisciplinary learning by offering open courses such as Social Reform Movements in Kerala and Cultural Heritage of North Malabar to students from various departments. The department also contributes to the academic programmes of other disciplines by handling complementary courses for the B.A. Economics programme, while encouraging its students to explore open elective courses offered across the institution.
